Cafe Marie

Overall: 8.67/10

When I first came to Cafe Marie it was by surprise. Just a month earlier I had visited a JJ Bean in the same place and I had not heard that this location had been closed down for safety concerns and that a new cafe had opened in its place. I have to admit I was left with a mix of skepticism and hope, JJ Bean represents consistency and quality which I was unsure would survive the chance, but on the other hand I knew the facilities were good and that no one would set up a cafe without a good plan. The choice to go ahead was a good one. The quality of the latte was great, a little sharper and less flavorful than ideal but definitely holds itself in the top shelf of lattes in the area. I will have to come back and affirm my opinion over time with different staff. Thought the menu in terms of drinks, sizes, and bakes is reduced, the new Korean Cafe still have varied offerings suitable to most. The ambiance remains the same as the modern-styled JJ Bean that preceded it, although I feel they are going for a cleaner look (as they only opened about a week ago). Service was relatively fast and friendly, and the price is on par with the area. I am interested in seeing where it goes.
